--AND KUWABARA IS A MAN!

[It's the only shout heard echoing over the Gear from a new transmission before the feed goes dead silent. Around fifteen minutes and a good breakfast later, Kuwabara manages to find the video function.

He's now outside and brushing crumbs away from his mouth.
]

URAMESHIIII!! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO?!

[Because obviously, being somewhere else means it's his fault. He waits a solid minute of just looking and staring, but then just decides to ask the gear instead. Thanks, Urameshi. Thanks.]

So, uh, some nice lady thought I was her kid and gave me a bag and a cat. [He laughs a little nervously.]

I don't know what it is, but it's kinda cute! She said it's mine, but, uh... I'm not really her kid? Does she have a kid? She's kinda... [He pauses on this one, then shrugs.] Unique's a good word for it.

Anyway. What am I s'posed to do with this? And, uh... how do I get back home? I'm not in the demon world right now, am I? 'Cuz this doesn't seem like Earth, but it's kinda like Earth. It's normal. Well, except for the pink cat, and the lady, and waking up here, and... Well, a lot of it's not normal.

I mean, usually Urameshi knows what's going on, but I dunno where he went, so... Anyone know here?

[Seriously, someone come help out this sad, pathetic child.]

Uh, sure, I guess. You'd probably be better off checking around for one of the wild birds, though. The tree's an all right idea if you don't wanna deal with a moving target right off the bat - [LIKE A WUSSY.] - but if you can get her to knock out somethin' that'll actually fight back, she might get some experience and level up. The higher her level, the stronger she'll be.

[Kinda like how Toguro got stronger depending on what percentage he was performing at, Yusuke almost says, but doesn't. Yeahhh, about that... he should probably try to bring up Toguro and the tournament once they've got all this Pokemon stuff out of the way, since he's 98% (hah) sure that's where Kuwabara's from, but for now, unless Kuwabara himself mentions it, he's just gonna deal with one thing at a time. Had Kuwabara shown up a few months earlier, that probably would've been the first thing Yusuke would've talked to him about; as it is, he'd somehow ended up discussing the things related to this world first, which... almost makes him think that maybe he's getting a little too used to this place. That's kind of a disturbing thought, actually, but he tries not to make his sudden discomfort too obvious. The existential crisis will have to wait until nobody's watching him.]

Either way, if you check your 'Gear, you should be able to see what moves she knows. Here, gimme a sec and I'll send you instructions...

[And after a few minutes of careful chicken pecking at his keyboard (what? He's from the early '90s! He's not used to this fancy millenial-era shit), Yusuke shoots Kuwabara a text. In it, Kuwabara will find a short, succinct explanation on how to access his party info and the Skitty's movelist... as well as some more name-calling. Sorry about that, shit weasel. But hey, at least Yusuke is trying to make sure Kuwabara's got the info handy in case he forgets how to do all this stuff later, right? You can't say there wasn't at least some good intent here.]

[Naturally, Yusuke's response to Kuwabara telling him off is to give him a big grin. Man, has he missed giving Kuwabara shit. NEVER LEAVE HIM AGAIN, KUWABRO.]

Not all of 'em, no. Like I said, these Pokemon things get stronger with each level they gain, so once you start training her, she should eventually get to the point where she knows all of those moves. The ones that're marked "start", as well as anything listed at a number below her current level, are the ones she knows right now.

[Phew. This exposition thing is exhausting. Seriously, how the hell do Botan and Kurama deal with having to explain stuff to him all the time? He kind of wishes he'd gotten water now instead of coffee.

But oh well, the show must go on! Yusuke can think of at least one other thing he probably ought to tell his friend before he lets him head out into the woods. Here he goes!]

By the way, does it say what type she is? 'cause depending on her type, there'll be certain kinds of Pokemon she's strong against, and others that'll pound her into the pavement. That's why it's a good idea to catch a lot of other ones and round your team out so that you can switch 'em around if you're up against something that one of them's weak to.

[I-IT'S NOT THAT HE LIKES YOU OR ANYTHING EITHER, KUWABARA...!!]

Yeah, pretty much. There're a lot of different types of Pokemon: Normal, Fighting, Fire, Ice... I don't remember 'em all off the top of my head, but I do know that Normal-types're weak to Fighting, so uh, if anything tries to punch her, you might wanna stomp on its face. Otherwise, she's gonna get her ass kicked.

As for what she's good against...

[... okay, he's gotta think about this one for a minute. He doesn't have a lot of Normal-types, and the two that he does have don't really do much fighting, so he doesn't really have their strengths and weaknesses down pat like he does with some of his other Pokemon. No worries, though! The answer comes to him relatively quickly, and when it does, he... looks pretty amused, for reasons that will become evident as soon as he next opens his mouth.]

I'm pretty sure ghosts won't have any effect on her. I guess that means if you get the tickles, you can just sic your pink kitten on 'em, huh, Kuwabara?

[He's not laughing at him, but there's definitely kind of a goading quality to his voice, as if what he's actually trying to tell him is, gee, that sounds just like you. Heh heh heh.]
