[It's the only shout heard echoing over the Gear from a new transmission before the feed goes dead silent. Around fifteen minutes and a good breakfast later, Kuwabara manages to find the video function.

He's now outside and brushing crumbs away from his mouth.]

URAMESHIIII!! WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO?!

[Because obviously, being somewhere else means it's his fault. He waits a solid minute of just looking and staring, but then just decides to ask the gear instead. Thanks, Urameshi. Thanks.]

So, uh, some nice lady thought I was her kid and gave me a bag and a cat. [He laughs a little nervously.]

I don't know what it is, but it's kinda cute! She said it's mine, but, uh... I'm not really her kid? Does she have a kid? She's kinda... [He pauses on this one, then shrugs.] Unique's a good word for it.

Anyway. What am I s'posed to do with this? And, uh... how do I get back home? I'm not in the demon world right now, am I? 'Cuz this doesn't seem like Earth, but it's kinda like Earth. It's normal. Well, except for the pink cat, and the lady, and waking up here, and... Well, a lot of it's not normal.

I mean, usually Urameshi knows what's going on, but I dunno where he went, so... Anyone know here?

[Carol raises an eyebrow at Kuwabara's reaction]

Not sure. Last we met he was in Violet but I'm sure he's moved on since then.

Really?! Where are you guys from? Demon world? Not the demon world? ...where's Violet?

Oh! And uh, that cartoon you were talkin' about. A Polka-man? I didn't ever watch any cartoon about polka-person so you're gonna have to fill me in on that one.

I'm from earth, but I have friends that are from other planets. At least back home I do.

It was a series of video games for kids. Somehow we all ended up here in the world where it's set. You should have some sort of manual that explains it better than I can.

[But give him a moment, he's gonna set the gear down and rummage through his backpack. His Skitty decides this is the most opportune moment to press her face close to the screen and sniff at the device. It's her way of saying hi, or something like that. In the background, Kuwabara is definitely checking out the contents of his backpack, but all you'll get is this lovely little pink thing.]

--whoa, there's a... rope in here? Or somethin'. What's with all this junk?!

[Carol's Swellow comes over to see what her trainer is doing now and sees the Skitty. She gives a loud trill]

Yeah, it's all stuff you'll need when you set out on your journey.

Helen, no, stop that! [Helen, the Swellow, is now lightly pecking at the screen as if to tell the Skitty to move back from the camera.]

[Kuwabara catches the Swellow and quickly turns around, reaching a hand up to scoop up the Skitty so he can see what made the sound. The poor cat pokémon quickly struggles to try and get back there, but he ignores it like a pro.]

Whoa, you've got a bird!

[Happy that the Skitty was no longer in the way of the camera the Swellow hops up onto Carol's shoulder.]

This is Helen. She was my starter.

Oh wow, look at that bird! So you make friends with your animal buddies here, I'm guessin'?

[He's really, really liking the sound of that. It doesn't look like his Skitty is as pleased, as Kuwabara actually has to tighten his grip to keep the pokémon back.]

Yep. You can catch new ones to take along with you on your journey too. They're all pretty amazing in their own right.

Hmm... Never had more than one pet before... but I think you're onto somethin' here.

You can carry up to 6 of them on your person at any given time. If you're traveling, that is. If you're settled down somewhere you can have as many as you want I think.

So you can just collect them and keep 'em in a farm if you pick a place?

Pretty much yeah.

Man, this place is friggin' weird. What's even the point of that?!

I guess it kinda looks neat, but... still.
